Waikowhai Kea Club
Wednesdays 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Keas is the youngest age group in Scouting and is open to boys and
girls aged 6 to 8. It involves meeting and socialising, sharing
and learning, all in an active, fun and dynamic environment.
The objectives of the Ngaio Kea section are:
To learn through fun
To develop a sense of sharing
To develop a sense of surroundings through exploration and
nature
To provide a means of personal creative expression
To give a sense of belonging
These objectives are based around the Kea motto;
I care, I Share, I discover, I Grow
and the Kea promise;
I promise to share my fun and help others
Keas meets each Wednesday (during school terms) at the Ngaio
Scout hall between 6:00pm & 7:00pm. The sessions normally start
and finish with an informal ceremony and in between we do games,
crafts, and activities associated with the terms theme.
All sessions are aimed around the Keas having fun while at the
same time meeting the objectives of Scouting.
Each term is given a theme to provide the development,
educational and fun aspects that are designed to instill
confidence in Keas.
Kea Scouts work towards the same goals as Cubs, Scouts and
Venturers, that is, to become better citizens in our community.
Keas is an excellent starting point in Scouting, and most Keas
go onto become Cubs and Scouts.
